Cooking Social - Tuesday night cooking class
Cooking socials are a fun & informative 3 hours in the kitchen with your new foodie friends (classmates) preparing a classic Mexican snack, salsa and popular traditional dish.
Tuesday January 9th - we’ll work together to make Mexicos ‘famous’ Tortilla Soup plus fresh and vibrant street snack - Sopes - corn masa bases with black bean sauce, traditional cheeses and fresh toppings & salsas, which we will make too. Enjoy a Tommy’s Margarita on arrival.
What you can expect -
Welcome - arrive to enjoy a refreshing welcome drink, meet your class mates, receive your recipes and go over the menu and class plan, before jumping into our hands on lesson making and creating a delicious menu.
What we will make -
Snacks:
Sopes/sopesitos - work with fresh corn tortilla masa on the comal to form the sope bases - then load them up with black bean sauce, real mexican cheeses, shredded chicken and other fresh toppings and salsas.
Hot salsas made from scratch in class
Meal:
Tortilla Soup - A rich tomato soup base is Infused with fragrant tortilla & guajillo chilli notes - then in true Mexican preparada style… an array of mexican delights are added at the time of serving “Mexico’s patriotic red, white and green” answer to Japan’s ‘Hot Pot’

additional beer, wine and margaritas and non-alcoholic options are available for purchase.
We stop for a break enjoying refreshments and the snacks that you have prepared and finish the session by sitting together to enjoy everything you we have made.
yours to take home will be your Clay Cantina class recipes and there is option to purchase some of the clay cooking tools like the ones used during the class.
